Monthly Review: February 2015

Thinking back over the month of February, I am…

most proud of:

keeping the steam train festival a surprise from Nick

deeply grateful for:

my mother’s wonderful breakfasts, dinners, and helping me tidy my room

delightfully surprised by:

just how lovely Nick’s family is ♥

letting go of:

annoying work-related issues that I have barely any control over

feeling inspired by:

Leo Babauta, author of zenhabits.net

Looking ahead to March, I am…

bursting with excitement over:

seeing Velociraptor (and loads of other bands) at Farmer and The Owl festival with Nick – our first music festival together, and spending that weekend away together

anxious to learn more about:

the Apple Watch (heh heh)

fully committed to:

removing any physical items I own that I could live without and not miss

consciously prioritising:

Nicholas > everything

going to ask for help with:

eating well and watching my health

definitely going to read:

more of my friends’ blog posts

keeping this quote in mind:

“I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.” –Maya Angelou

Do my current habits support my goals?

Has what I’ve been spending my time and energy on this past month gotten me closer to where I want to be? And, if not, what am I willing to experiment with next month to change that?

I need to sleep earlier in order to regulate my sleeping patterns. That also means sleeping an adequate amount and keeping it consistent. I have been going to the gym twice a week (missed one day due to unforeseen circumstances), which is good, but I need to supplement that with better eating.

I’m willing to experiment with earlier days and trying to get productive things done in the mornings. I used to be a very good morning person but as of late, have not been consistent with that. I haven’t photographed many gigs recently and I feel just a little bit out of touch, so I am willing to search for more websites to work for, or do some of this in my spare time.

Additionally, I feel like there are some personal things I could really work on that will improve my attitude and way of thinking. I just need to have better control over my emotions and what I say. It will take some time but I’m willing to put in all the effort.
