A letter from the past
It’s 1am, and I’m sleeping over at James’s house. I just received this email in my inbox:
Dear Georgie,
Just a reminder to smile. Life is good.
Using FutureMe.org, I sent it 1 year, 7 months and 19 days ago, on the 15th February 2013. I sent it to today.
Nothing really comes to mind when I think of that date. I’m not really sure why I sent it to this particular date. I probably picked one at random. I know I was working at my previous job and I was probably struggling a great deal with my Masters degree. That, or everything was going well, and I was just sending a friendly email to my future self.
It would have been the day after Valentine’s Day. I could look through my old blog posts and try to gauge what was up, but I have decided not to. Did I send it to today because it’s one day after the anniversary of me buying my first domain? I bought Heartdrops.org on the 5th October 2008.
I guess it was a pretty rough week to begin with, but it got much better. Missing buses, getting tired at work, getting giant headaches. I guess Friday was the real highlight. We had a work party, and unlike last time when I got smashed, I didn’t drink a drop! I guess I had to avoid drinking since I had a blood test on the Saturday. The blood test is just to check up on my cholesterol levels, which should hopefully have lowered compared to last time. I guess I haven’t felt like drinking alcohol at all since that incident a couple of months ago, which is good as well.
But I had a really great time. It was strange watching the mania unfold and having everyone so hyperactive and disorientated. At the same time, it was kind of funny to watch.
James made some really awesome kale fettuccine by hand. We ate it with some roasted pumpkin, smoked trout and cheddar cheese. It was super delicious! We also discovered a 90-cent carton of soy iced coffee (it was close to the use by date), and that was really nice as well. Bargain!
Monday is a public holiday. Yay! :)

That is cool that you sent that message to yourself and interesting about the date too. You probably did have a lot going on and thought you might need it. It’s a nice message to get from yourself. :D
It would have been a completely different vibe with you not drinking. But if you are a lot more comfortable not, I can completely get it. I don’t drink, I just find it a bit weird. xD Plus, I don’t really like the taste.
Nomnomnomnom that looks deliciouso. ♥

I love the idea of sending an email to my future self. I will have to take a look at that website.
The fettuccine looks delicious. Home-made pasta is the best. :P
