Achievement Unlocked: May 2017

Just before writing this, I was:
Downloading some free fonts. :P
This past month, I achieved:
It was my birthday – not that that’s much of an achievement, but hey, I am still alive. Hahaha.
I tried on my wedding dress! It fits like a glove (save for hemming, which is totally normal for someone of my height), I got some shoes as well, and have been scouting for some jewellery. I also got more invitations sent out.
I went to many meetups, including a couple of workshops where I learned some JavaScript and Ruby. I was really pleased with myself for chugging through it all. If you knew me a year ago, you’d know I bailed on meetups very frequently.
I went to the gym seven days in a row. That was pretty hectic. Yesterday I went pretty hard on the bench press (which I don’t usually do), so this morning I woke up with my chest aching. Success. But that meant I didn’t want to go to the gym as per usual this morning, so I skipped, to let my body rest.
Speaking of the gym, I finally listed my old Lululemon gym clothes on eBay and I’m glad they all found new owners. 😄
I also made some achievements towards my 27 by 27 goals and wrote about them in my blog post Checkpoint #1.
This past month, I learned:
I learned how to build a React component! Thanks Chris. ☺️ And how to do some cool shit with an Arduino.
This past month, I got bored of:
I couldn’t think of anything, but I sure as hell got bored of commuting to and from work. 😦 Not much longer before we find a place and move, closer to the city.
But that’s OK, because I enjoyed:
Buying some new gym pants from Lululemon. They were soooo comfortable I wore them to work. I could probably sleep in them. ☁️
Today, something that made me happy was:
Being able to attend the SydCSS meetup because my friend Isabel had a spare ticket that no one took! It was a great meetup.
Today, something I could have done better was:
I ate two servings of chocolate: a mini Crunchie and a tiny packet of M&Ms. I honestly could have done better and only taken the one. Greedy Georgie.
Tomorrow, I’m going to:
Seriously relax once I get home from work. And have an early night.
In June, I’m looking forward to:
Visiting Perth again :) I will be there for two weeks and hope to have a pleasant time. Again, it’s not really a holiday, as I will be working remotely, but I think that having some space to myself and away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney will be good.
In June, I’m going to make the positive change of:
You know what, I’ve actually been sleeping earlier thanks to the gym tiring me out the more often I go. And I want to keep meditating. I have been using the app Calm as per Pauline’s recommendation. I am on an eight day streak and would love to continue it. It’s making me feel a little more relaxed at night but I want to do it more in the mornings when I feel like I’m in a mad rush.
One thing on my to-do list is:
I’m literally going to take a break and laze and watch a movie or something. I’m going to do literally nothing this weekend to let myself recuperate.
One happy photo from this past month is:
If I had to write a book or record a film about this past month, I would call it:
Life in Progress
After I post this, I’m going to:
Meditate! :)
