Tulip Time 2015
Nick and I travelled south to go to the Tulip Time festival. Because I went to Floriade in Canberra last year, I didn’t go last year. Each year the tulips look the same but it’s still lovely to see them each time. Tulips are my favourite flower. :)
I think we were mostly really excited to use our new cameras! :P
It took about an hour and a half to drive, and the gardens were packed. As we were crossing a bridge we overheard a lady saying that she came a few weeks ago and the gardens were empty. Today was the last day the event was running so there were a lot of people. Possibly because there was a little dog show going on as well.
I am pretty proud of the photo below. I just looked at the way I had it composed, and I think it’s perfect. I don’t like the background that much because you can still see the shapes of the people. But the yellow tulips that stand tall at the right and left edges of the photo seem to frame it really well and add balance.
Nick and I were taking photos of this red tulip among the dark purple and yellow ones. We were crouching down trying to get really good creative shots of this red tulip. XD
Nick and I kept taking photos of each other, this is my favourite of him though. :D

Tulips are one of my favourite flowers (them and Lilies) so this post made me really happy; I feel like they don’t get enough attention, like… I don’t know many people who think of them as their favourite flower like I do. :(
The photos are all really lovely too, I wish I had your eye… and camera, if we’re honest, haha.
p.s. Boy is very cute, good job. <3

Beautiful flowers and photos! I love tulips. Well, in general, I love flowers with large petals like tulips, roses, and orchids :) That must be so cool to see so many flowers together like that. My favorite shots are the 2nd one and the one with orange and yellow tulips with a tree in the background. What a great place to try out your new gear!

The tulips are quite beautiful and quite colorful. I love that about flowers. Hahaha, I love the facial expression on Nick. New camera is working out very nicely, I say. I can’t really pick out a favorite photo because each of them have their own merits and are all so pretty.

I absolutely adore the photos. :D So many amazing shots. It would have been a lot of fun playing with the new camera as well as being around lots of lovely flowers.

Love the photos, they are stunning. Did you know that the tulip is the national flower of Turkey?! I have always associated tulips with the Netherlands but in actual fact, their native range is through the Balkans, Middle East, across to western China and Mongolia :) The Turks saw tulips as a symbol of paradise on earth.
The sunflower is my favourite flower, but tulips are right up there. They are gorgeous <3 Sounds like it was a wonderful day!

I love the pictures you took at the Tulip Time festival! Flower festivals are awesome because you get you see a bunch of nice flowers and take awesome pictures of them XD. AND it’s a plus for you too because you can make full use of your new camera (which is awesome because look at the focus)!
*admires the focus of the tulips*
Even though the drive was pretty long, I still see it’s worth it because look at the amazing tulips!!!!! The wilting fire-like tulip looks like a bird flying from a second glance. It’s cute how you and Nick takes pictures of each other XD!
Alsoooo congrats for getting a new iPhone!!! ☺
