Achievement Unlocked: February 2018
Just before writing this, I was:
Trying to clear space on my MacBook. Yeah, I know, Downloads folder is the black hole of files. But I ended up deleting Civilisation VI because I don’t really play it anymore? 😛
This past month, I achieved:
February went by really, really quick. I made a little progress on the new design for my blog, so have been learning a bit about CSS grid.
I photographed my first concert in two years. That’s a damn long time to go without taking concert photos. I was afraid I would be rusty but I didn’t do such a bad job. I photographed a band called Cloud Nothings. You can find my photos at Casual Band Blogger – because yeah, we’re back, baby. CBB was on hiatus for a year in 2017, but I am excited to be photographing again. ☺️
I also went rock climbing and woooah… I managed to climb a really hard wall. I screwed up my nail polish while I did it, but who cares. Haha. Most of the walls start at level 11 or so. I did a level 17, and I thought, “fuck this shit!” as I neared the top, as it got very hard. I swear a lot when it starts to get super hard. I’ve heard other people do it too, though. 😂 The guy on the wall next to me was doing a level 18 and I heard him exclaim, “fuck!” as he slipped.
After going through the level 17 wall I decided to try the level 18 that he did. I thought I would struggle a lot. At the beginning I found it hard to get myself moving a bit, because the black holds were so far apart and I’m so short and I couldn’t reach. The guy said to myself and Nick (as Nick was belaying me), “Oh man, that black wall destroyed me. You get about two thirds of the way up and there’s nothing to hold on to.”
I wasn’t determined to beat the guy, I was just determined to keep going. So I did, and a lot of the time I felt like I was dragging my legs up the wall while my hands held on. It got just a tad easier at the top where all the holds were just a bit more reachable. Nick said that the guy said to him, “Oh man! She beat me.”
Yes I did bro. 😂
This past month, I learned:
That it is really important to take rest days from exercise. I’ve been burning myself out until my work friend Heather educated me on the importance of rest days and encouraged me to take a bit of time off and not work out every day. It was a little hard to do at first, but now I am trying to get more rest in. 🙏
This past month, I got bored of:
Cleaning out broken links on my blog. But I finished cleaning them all out! Yessssss! You will notice my 27 by 27 is updated with that completed goal.
But that’s OK, because I enjoyed:
My new purple gym bra and tights from Muscle Nation that arrived this week! The colour is rad.
Today, something that made me happy was:
We had an Engineering Showcase at work, which we have every month or so. It’s an event where we showcase what we are working on as a team. Our team had something that was very impressive and we wanted to show it off, and we did, successfully!
Today, something I could have done better was:
I ate a handful of Skittles. Oops. 😳
Tomorrow, I’m going to:
Go to a Body Pump class, as Nick and I usually do every Saturday morning. And then we’ll get breakfast nearby, and you bet I’ll get a bacon and egg bun from our go-to cafe. 😍
In March, I’m looking forward to:
Going rock climbing again with my posse – Nick, Monica, Geoff, and Phuong.
In March, I’m going to make the positive change of:
Cleaning my wardrobe even more! I’m so excited that I’m slowly reclaiming space in my wardrobe after listing some clothes on eBay and donating some to charity. I can’t wait to feel completely at ease with my wardrobe.
One thing on my to-do list is:
I need to call the dentist and cancel my appointment for next week. I’ve moved out of town and it’s no longer convenient…
One happy photo from this past month is:
I met Rachel and Emma Dillon, two lovely ladies who are World Bikini Fitness Fashion pros. 💪
If I had to write a book or record a film about this past month, I would call it:
Money, Money, Money – all that money I spent this past month is errrrr… yeah… shameful.
After I post this, I’m going to:
Clean up some of the clothes I have lying around the bedroom. Oopsies!
What was something you achieved in February and what will you attempt in March?

Sounds like another good month for you! Rock climbing sounds hard, but I bet its fun!
Amy
I’d love to go rock climbing, but don’t think I’d be very good at it. I’d definitely be doing one of the lower levels if I went because I’m not strong at all! The Level 18 one sounds so challenging. Congrats on doing so well!
I’ve never even thought about clearing up broken links on my blog. It sounds like such a massive task that I don’t think I’d ever make the time for it. Last year, I set myself the goal of proof checking all of my posts and only managed to do the first three before I gave up. Maybe one day!
I need to have a wardrobe clear out too. I’ve been hanging onto things for a few years that don’t even fit me, just because I used to like them so much. Now, I’m not sure that I even like them – my style’s changed so much since I bought them in uni!
