Undeniably the shortest month of the year, February had a few little highlights in it for me, including rock climbing a really challenging climb!

After reading an article I was encouraged to write some values and motivations to assist in personal growth. It was interesting to see that they really reflect the person I am.
When people think of Japan, they think of Tokyo. Crazy nightlife and some wacky mixes of the modern with the traditional. The last thing they think of is a rural city in the “middle of nowhere”, with fresh water and magical views. Gujo was exactly that.
For my first post of the year I reflect on some of my thoughts about my life right now, and how I will be improving on my physical health, mental health, and overall mindset from 2017 to 2018.
Another year, another review. Getting married, moving, changes at work, lifestyle changes, 2017 wanted to throw it all at me. Clearly, there was no challenge I couldn’t get through.
Our three days in Kyoto included Arashiyama bamboo forest, monkey park, Nara deer park, Fushimi Inari-Taisha (the thousands of torii gates), and several temples. Kyoto is the place to go to experience a lot of the traditional side of Japan.
