A Day in the Life: October 2014

This post is another entry for Manda’s A Day in the Life linkup. Feel free to view my previous entries.

Eight facts

Here are eight facts, in no particular order, about today. Think of it as a stream of consciousness like the other two I have written, Seventeen teas later and Things that irritate me.

  • I like waffles a lot.
  • I walk to the bus stop sometimes. There is one at the end of the street I live on, and a couple others around. This might sound confusing but I have an option to go a bit further than the end of the street, and catch a bus to a different train station. It conveniently arrives every thirty minutes between my regular bus. However, I sometimes find myself going to an entirely different bus, which is a further distance to walk, but gets to the station faster. The buses arrive every five to then minutes, but at the same time, they also reach capacity easily.
  • I took a thirty-minute nap at work.
  • I have been drinking a lot of tea called Red Green Dreamy, it’s very nice.
  • James and I always met in front of a sushi restaurant called Makoto, before going to the gym. We tried it for the first time today, but unfortunately, it was not really that good. We found other places to be more affordable and have a better variety.
  • I ate prawn wontons for lunch, my mum had made them just for me because I don’t eat pork or chicken. They were delicious.
  • I went downstairs to Pigeonhole to see what wallets they have, because I can’t stand my wallet at the moment. It’s too thick and I just want something a lot slimmer. I couldn’t find anything.
  • I accidentally ordered two coffees with our building’s online ordering system, and I didn’t realise until Emi picked them up and said there were two. Turns out there were two in my cart, and I didn’t notice. Which means I paid $3 for a coffee I didn’t even want (I used a free voucher for Emi’s coffee).

Eight photos

Pictures speak louder than words, and there are a few interesting things in my day, so here are eight interesting photos.

Lovely flowers and the toy robot is super cute!! /hehe

Wow – these a great photos!

I’m curious though. How does one successfully take a nap while at work? I’ve tried before, but could never actually fall asleep because I was afraid to get “caught” (even if I was on my lunch break).

Haha I guess I am one of those lucky people who works in one of those comfy and sort of lenient tech companies — our office is fitted out with a ping pong table, piano and a few couches where one can take a hearty old nap. Hours are flexible, so as long as you get work done and stay for a certain amount of hours, all is well.

That love in a jar is way too cute, and I don’t even know why /eee

Yay, another day in life :D. Waffles over pancakes anytime of the day! How do you like your waffles? Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside? You’re lucky for being able to take a nap at work! I can’t seem to find a place to take a nap at besides my car *o*.

It’s a bummer when you eat at a bad sushi place :(. It’s even more dangerous since they’re handling raw fishes. Hopefully that extra coffee kept you up!

Your neighborhood looks like ours over here! Grass on the side and yard, and telephone/power poles here and there! Though I didn’t have a perceived thought of what neighborhoods look like in other countries; I just know about the whole city life in Hong Kong and Europe *o*.

I’ve said it before and I’m gonna keep saying it, if I didn’t know you lived in Australia, I swear you’re neighborhood could be in any state in the U.S. :D (Y)

Your photos are really pretty! I just read two Day in the Life posts that involved sushi and now I really would like some, but it’s 9am on a Sunday where I am! It’s too bad that it wasn’t very nice, though. I am very jealous of your work naps!
