I answer the same questions I answer each month, recapping May. It was my birthday, I did a presentation, and I dealt with being violently sick for almost a whole week.
Archives for Month: May 2016
It was my birthday today. When I was younger, I thought 25 was so far away and I had some dreams and aspirations at that age. But now that I’m 25, I realise that you can achieve anything you want, no matter what age you are. Because all I’ve achieved to date has been regardless of age.
Whew! So after drowning myself in blankets and painkillers and cold tablets, I managed to make it to work in one piece today, feeling much better than I did the past four days. I got Nick to shoot this Fashion Friday in a quick twenty minutes this morning because this wintery outfit is oh-so-cute!
I haven’t been this sick in a while, living off green tea, hot soup and crackers because I don’t have much of an appetite. It also feels sort of lonely.
I had a cough after my presentation last week (thank goodness it was after my presentation), and over the weekend I felt lethargic even though my sore throat disappeared, but the other day I woke up with a horrid cold. I hadn’t slept well and I woke up because I was unable to breathe through my nostrils.
After a long week, I finally finished my presentation for the A11y Bytes event. I spent enough time practising and it went well! It seems the audience really liked my presentation. I was also really pleased with the other presentations I saw. Even though the presentations were not recorded, I’ve got the slides available.
I also bought a new pair of new flat lace-up shoes which I know will serve me well.
Light denim and heels make this summer-to-autumn outfit fun and flirty. I have owned these jeans for a few years, and when I first bought them I was very excited about them. I always wear them cuffed because I’m short and I don’t really bother getting the hems of my jeans cut. This is probably the first basic light denim coloured pair of jeans that I’ve owned.
I like the jeans, but I know that I look a bit short in light coloured pants. Check out how I put together this outfit!
Although this is technically the third time we have met up for dinner this year, I thought it best to start writing posts! I feel like we chatted a lot this time, and I took photos of the food at dinner too (yay! food!).
This dinner happened last Thursday. At work we had a hackathon event called ShipIt, and we were given a lot of candy and fed really well. Lilian had also eaten a lot for lunch and we were both very full. I wanted something small, and we were going to get noodles or ramen, but we changed our mind.
More dinners to come, but keep reading for a few photos and to read about our little catch-up.
Timeless Thoughts is a monthly linkup hosted by myself and my friend Tara, where bloggers write about something from their past – it could be an item, a place, an event – anything that evokes a trip down memory lane. Timeless Thoughts is held on the first Saturday of the month, and runs for two weeks.
I wrote a while ago about lunches being less than $5, but that was in primary school. Or high school. When you could get food on the cheap. This is just a quick recap of that post and yet another trip down memory lane.
Hello, hello! Happy fifth of May, that’s my dad’s birthday! Sadly I haven’t seen him today since he works night shift and arrived home after I left for work, and when I got home he was gone again.
I had a handful of things on my mind this week. Not to mention I have been busy and busy, but it has been a fun ride. I am looking forward to having a good nap after this week’s antics!
Keep reading to find out how my nose went bonkers on me this morning, I ramble about shoes, think about actually signing up to a gym instead of leeching other people’s passes, and guess what – my proposal to speak at an event about accessibility was accepted! Panic mode! 😛
